*Type 2 ile hayali durumlar hakkında konuşuyoruz ve ana cümlede de onların hayali sonuçları hakkında tahminlerde bulunuyoruz bu nedenle bu tip cümleler "Hayali Şart" olarak ta isimlendirilmektedir. Geçmiş zaman kullanılmasına rağmen aslında geçmiş zamandan bahsedilmemektedir. Bu nedenle gerçek olmayan geçmiş diye adlandırılmıştır.
En yaygın kullanım şekli:
IF + SIMPLE PAST, WOULD + V1(Fiilin 1. hali)
*Truth=>I don"t have enough money now, so I can"t lend you any.(Present)
=====> (Şimdi yeterli param yok, bu nedenle sana hiç borç veremem.)
*Conditional Sentence=>If I had enough money, I would lend you some.
=====> (Eğer yeterli param olsaydı, sana biraz borç verirdim.)
**Örnekteki durum şu an gerçek olmayan bir durudan bahsetmektedir. Kişinin şu anda parası yoktur, eğer olsaydı verebileceğinden bahsetmektedir. Olması mümkün olmayan bir şey olduğu için buna "Hayali" denmektedir. Cİğer cümlelerden de daha iyi anlaşılacaktır.
*Truth=> I am not rich , so I can not buy a villa in Kuşadası.
=====> (Zengin değilim, bu nedenle Kuşadasın"da bir villa alamam.)
*Conditional Sentence=> If I were rich , I would buy a villa in Kusadası.
=====> (Eğer zengin olsaydım, Kuşadasın"da bir villa alırdım.)
*Truth=> She is so shy ; That is why she doesn"t enjoy parties.
=====> (O çok utangaçtır; Bu nedenle partilerde eğlenmez.)
*Conditional Sentence=> If she weren"t so shy , she would enjoy parties.
=====> (Eğer bu kadar utangaç olmasaydı, partilerde eğlenirdi.)
*Truth=> We haven"t central heating , so the house is rather cold.
=====> (Merkezi ısınmamız yok, bu yüzden ev oldukça soğuk.)
*Conditional Sentence=> If we had central heating , the house wouldn"t be cold.
=====> (Eğer merkezi ısıtmamız olsaydı, ev soğuk olmazdı.)
*Truth=> I live near my office , so I don"t spend much time travelling to work.
=====> (Ofisime yakın bi yerde oturuyorum, bu nedenle işe giderken fazla zaman harcamıyorum.)
*Cond. Sentence=> If I didn"t live near my office , I would spend much time travelling to work.
=====> (Eğer ofisimin yakınında oturmasaydım, işe giderken çok zaman harcardım.)
*Truth=> Because I cannot drive , I cannot take the car.
=====> (Araba süremediğim için, arabayı alamıyorum.)
*Cond. Sentence=> If I could drive , I could take the car.
=====> (Eğer araba sürebilseydim, arabayı alabilirdim.)
*Truth=>I will work tomorrow, so I can"t come to the cinema with you.
=====> (Yarın çalışacağım, Bu nedenle senle sinemaya gelemem.)
*Cond. Sentence=>If I didn"t have to work tomorrow, I"d come to the cinema with you.
=====> (Eğer yarın çalışmak zorunda olmasaydım, senle sinemaya gelebilirdim.)
*Truth=> He never shaves so he looks unattractive.
=====> (O, hiç bir zaman traş olmaz, bu nedenle itici görünür.)
*Cond. Sentence=> If he shaved , he wouldn"t look unattractive.
=====> (Eğer traş olsaydı, itici görünmezdi.)
* Type 3, zaman geçmiş olduğunda ve if caluse daki eylem olmadığından şartın terine getirilemediği zaman kullanılmaktadır.Yani artık o eylemin meydana gelmesi imkansızdır.
En yaygın kullanım şekli:
IF + PAST PERFECT, WOULD HAVE V3
*Truth =>She didn"t study hard enough ,so she didn"t pass the test.
=====> (O yeterince sıkı çalışmadı, bu nedenle testi geçemedi.)
*Conditional Sentence: If she had studied hard enough, she would have passed the test.
=====> (Eğer yeterince sıkı çalışsaydı, testi geçerdi.)
*Truth => I drove so fast , so I had an accident.
=====> (Arabayı çok hızlı sürdüm, bu nedenle kaza yaptım.)
*Conditional Sentence: If I hadn"t driven so fast, I wouldn"t have had an accident.
=====> (Eğer çok hızlı sürmeseydim, kaza yapmazdım.)
*Truth => Merve and Sinem didn"t see the signal, so they didn"t stop.
=====> (Merve ve Sinem işareti görmediler, bu yüzden durmadılar.)
*Conditional Sentence: If Merve and Sinem had seen the signal , they would have stopped.
=====> (Eğer Merve ve Sinem işareti görseydiler, dururlardı.)
*Truth => It was raining , so I didn"t take the kids to the beach.
=====> (Yağmur yağıyordu, bu nedenle çocukları plaja götürmedim.)
*Cond. Sentence: If it had not been raining, I would take the kids to the beach.
=====> (Eğer yağmur yağmasaydı, çocukları plaja götürürdüm.)
*Truth => We didn"t go by air because we hadn"t enough money.
=====> (Hava yoluyla gitmedik çünkü yeterli paramız yoktu.)
*Cond. Sentence: If we had had enough money, we would have gone by air.
=====> (Eğer yeterli paramız olsaydı, hava yoluyla giderdik.)
*Truth => The exit door were blocked , so people couldn"t escape from the burning wall.
=====> Çıkış kapası kapanmıştı, bu nedenle insanlar yanan duvardan kaçamadılar.
*Cond. Sentence: People could have escaped from the burning wall if the exit door hadn"t been blocked.
=====>Eğer çıkış kapısı kapılı olmasaydı, yanan duvardan insanlar kaçabilirdi.
*Truth=> She was late for work, because she didn"t hear the clock ring.
=====> (O işe geç kaltı, çünkü saatin zilini duymadı.)
*Cond. Sentence: If she had heard the clock ring, she wouldn"t have been late for work.
