To ask for: istemek, talep etmek (The old man asked for a cup of tea.)

 

To be used to Noun /Ving : alışık olmak ( I am used to living in Ankara) ( I am not used to cold weather)

 

To get used to Noun/Ving: alışmak (You will get used to his strange sense of humor) ( You got used to driving your new car.)

 

Every other day: gün aşırı (We have English classes every other day.)

 

For ever: ebediyen, ilelebet (You cannot stay this small town forever.)

 

By day, by night: gündüzleyin, geceleyin (We travelled by night, and spend a lot of time on different beautiful beaches by day.)

 

From time to time: zaman zaman, arada sırada (From time to time he goes fishing.)

 

One after another: birbirinin peşinden, arka arkaya (She typed all the letters one after another)

 

On one?s way to: yolu üzerinde, yolunda (She ran into her teacher on her way to school.)

 

Any longer: artık, daha uzun süre (always with negative sentences) (He does not smoke any longer.)

 

Face to face: karşı karşıya, yüz yüze (You should discuss your problems with the teacher face to face.)

 

As soon as possible: mümkün olduğu kadar çabuk ( Please deliver my order as soon as possible.)

Day by day, week by week?: günden güne haftadan haftaya (The patient is getting better day by day.)

It’s about time : bir şeyi yapmanın tam zamanı, zamanı geldide geçiyor (It?s about time you

 cleaned your room!)
