Bryan Adams - Bryan Adams (1980)
This is the tentative first outing by Bryan Adams, together with Jim Vallance and the same band who would back him for many years. The songs are reasonable, without any particularly weak tracks, the arrangements uncomplicated and find BA touring various pop/rock styles, with considerably less raucous guitars than in later years. For "Neighbours"-era fans it's probably too sparse, but is an interesting listen for those familiar with his earlier output.

Bryan Adams - You Want It You Got It (1981)
In the similar style of the tops 'Cuts like a knife' and 'Reckless' we have 'You want it, you got it'. Personally i think it should be called 'Fits ya Good' but never mind. Just like 'Cuts like a knife' the first track is the best one. Lonely Nights is right up there with some of Bryan's best songs to be fair and is great to listen to. Jealousy is another tops track especially with the pacey piano playin. The ONLY majoe floor is track 2, the lyrics and so out of touch with the music is is really poor to be honest, but apart from that another fine addition to my B.A collection.
01 - Lonely Nights
02 - One Good Reason
03 - Don't Look Now
04 - Coming Home

Bryan Adams - Cuts Like A Knife (1983)
After the indifference which met his first album, Bryan Adams reportedly considered naming this sophomore release "Bryan Adams Hasn't Heard of You Either," but thankfully, the soon-to-be mega-star settled for the less offensive Cuts Like a Knife instead. Side one (for those of you who still remember vinyl sides) of this album is simply perfect. "The Only One," "This Time," and the title track are mid-paced melodic rockers with drop-dead choruses and hooks; they set the mold for most of Adams' finest and biggest hits. Though it rocks a little harder, "Take me Back" is just as radio-friendly thanks to its use of female back-up singers, and the fantastic "Straight Through the Heart" is Adams' first of many great ballads. Side two opens with a few misfires, but recovers soon enough thanks to the gutsy guitar of "Don't Leave Me Lonely" and the rather saccharine (but still good) ballad "The Best Was Yet to Come." Adams would finally achieve chart-topping perfection on his next release Reckless, but Cuts Like a Knife comes pretty close.

Bryan Adams - Reckless (1984)
Bryan Adams capitalized on the momentum of Cuts Like a Knife with 1984's Reckless, a virtually flawless collection of melodic hard rock which would dominate radio for years to come. "Run to You" was a brilliant lead-off single which remains one of Adams' best songs ever, but its success still pales in comparison to follow-up smashes such as "Summer of '69," "It's only Love," (a duet with Tina Turner), and the ballad to end all ballads, "Heaven." Although some songs haven't aged very well (especially the overtly cheesy "Kids Wanna Rock"), these weak links are easily eclipsed by further highlights such as the cool rock of "One Night Love Affair" and the irrepressible pop chorus of "Somebody." Sales figures may point to 1991's Waking Up the Neighbors as the peak of Bryan Adams career, but the songs from Reckless will most certainly prove to be his lasting legacy.

Bryan Adams - Into the Fire (1987)
By the time he returned to the studio after almost two years of touring behind the remarkable success of 1984's Reckless, Bryan Adams' once fruitful collaboration with producer Jim Vallance had obviously staled. Most of the duo's songs for 1987's Into the Fire were lifeless and dull, and the album yielded only one successful single in "Heat of the Night." The arena rock of "Hearts on Fire" injects it with at least a little spark, but things quickly get ugly with the depressing title track and the truly awful "Only the Strong Survive." Not surprisingly, the album was Adams' last with Vallance, and his new partnership with producer John "Mutt" Lange (Def Leppard, AC/DC) would lead to his greatest success yet.

Bryan Adams - So Far So Good (1993)
Throughout the 1980s and early '90s, few contemporary rock artists were able to come up with as many lighthearted, guilty pleasures as Bryan Adams. This is especially evident through So Far So Good, which neglects all album fillers and compiles many of his most noteworthy songs, from such rockers as "Summer of '69," "Run to You," and "Cuts Like a Knife" to the equally popular power ballads "Heaven" and "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You." Also included is the all-new "Please Forgive Me," one of his best power ballads yet. It's not quite a perfect compilation, however; in particular, his Top 20 hits "She's Only Happy When She's Dancin" and "Thought I'd Died and Gone to Heaven" are overlooked. These are only minor flaws, though. There is no better introduction to Bryan Adams to date than So Far So Good.

Bryan Adams - 18 Til I Die (1996)
Bryan Adams is a Bruce Springsteen for blue collar workers. Perennially in love with rock & roll, on this mid-90s album he struts his stuff with an unselfconscious, schoolboy swagger. "I'll be 18 'til I die", the Canadian boasts on the title track--and this determination is soon made apparent on unsubtle tracks like "The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You", the appallingly-titled "Your Underwear (I Wanna Be)" and "Black Pearl" (a paean to black women, crooned about in lazy stereotypes). The 12-bar boogie rules on this album--that is, when Adams isn't falling back on his Unique Selling Point, The Ballad, as on the epic "I Think About You". Still, many hipsters enjoy Adams more than they'd care to admit, and 18 Til I Die is such snotty, unashamed Cochran-loving rock, it's hard not to feel affection for it.
01 - The Only Thing That Looks Good on Me Is You
02 - Do to You
03 - Let's Make a Night to Remember
04 - 18 Til I Die

Bryan Adams - Unplugged (1997)
Only two years after delivering his first live set, Bryan Adams returned with his second, MTV Unplugged. Of course, "unplugged" albums were in vogue in the '90s, but it has to be said that Adams arrived a little late in the game, several years after efforts by Eric Clapton and 10,000 Maniacs ruled the charts. Nevertheless, Adams' MTV Unplugged is a strong effort, featuring stripped-down versions of such staples as "Summer of '69," "Cuts Like a Knife," and "Heaven" that prove that he's a resourceful straight-ahead rocker with a knack for a hook. There's also a handful of surprises, like early cuts like "Fits Ya Good" and a few new songs, that keep the record interesting for dedicated fans, but the overall quality of the music makes the record one of his best efforts of the '90s.
01 - Summer Of '69

Bryan Adams - On a Day Like Today (1998)
This album is probably Bryan's best album to date (along with "into the fire") returning more to his rock roots after the disappointing album "Eighteen till I die". Right from the very start this album is pure quality and keeps up the pace right to the very end with only a couple of weak tracks. In short, Brilliant!

Bryan Adams - The Best Of Me (2001)
Obviously, "Summer Of 69" is here--the blue-collar rock anthem that made Bryan Adams' name as Springsteen's main contender and stoked the fires of many a young man's rock & roll dreams. But The Best Of Me demonstrates that Adams has had a chequered career and for every jukebox classic, there have been a clutch of forgettable, or regrettable moments; check here the greasy sleaze of "The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You", the botched dalliance with dance-rhythms on "Cloud Number Nine" or that slick makeover that sees Bryan showing off his buttocks in soft-focus on the sleeve. Still, there's no denying that The Best Of Me features some justifiably massive hits: "All For Love"--with Bryan, Rod Stewart and Sting pulling their Three Musketeers impressions and the wonderful "When You're Gone", which features Melanie C as the particularly vociferous love interest.

Bryan Adams - Room Service (2004)
There have been a fair few negative reviews of this album, all of which I feel are unjustified. This is an album of variety, and the sound is still very much Bryan Adams - you can hear the influence of 'Run To You' in 'Open Road' (one of my favourites on the record - and im sure Open Road will join the long list of Bryan Adams classics in the future) and East Side Story is so infectious that you will struggle to stop yourself dancing along to it... the mark of any good song!I have to admit, I find 'Flying' a little slow, but it's a grower, definitely.Having just heard him on his Room Service tour, I can confirm that this new album sounds just as good live - and comparing the old with the new, Room Service matches up to the original favourites - Heaven, Summer of 69, Run To You.... the list goes on. If you have loved Bryans old music, then you will definitely love this record as well. Naturally his music has matured, but he hasnt worsened with age as many artists do, he's simply evolved and carried his music into the 21st century (successfully!)
